RSVP Introductions – a Potted History

The doors of RSVP were first opened way back in 1992 by our founder Patrick MacDonald, who had the vision to see there was huge demand for a traditional dating agency with the know-how to hand-pick matches but also to organise high quality singles events. Through an enviable word-of-mouth reputation, RSVP soon became a very well-known introductions company, and by 2006 had over 14,000 lifetime members on its books.

RSVP was acquired at this time by Anne and Roland Stringer who had 15 very successful years at the helm – they paved the way to RSVP becoming one of the leading personal matchmaking agencies in the UK. By the end of their time at the helm in 2021, RSVP had amassed a staggering 27,000 lifetime members.

The RSVP Dating Agency and Singles Club today

In 2022, RSVP was celebrating their 30th year and the evolution of the RSVP Dating Agency and Singles Club was clear for all to see. Having grown into one of the largest and most successful traditional dating companies in the UK, covering the whole country.

Prior to this in 2021, two of the UK's most prestigious traditional personal matchmaking agencies came together, when RSVP, was brought into the ownership of the Dating Options Group to become the largest dating group of their kind in the UK, regulated by the industry body, the Dating Agency Association.

Under this umbrella, RSVP now offers the UK's widest reaching and safest alternative to online dating with access to a database of more than 60,000 in all and one that is growing all the time too.

As a company, RSVP continues to go from strength to strength. We have enjoyed thirty years of positive testimonials; weddings, engagements, blended families, new families, hundreds of prestigious events, holidays and much more; all highlighting the value of RSVP and the power of being one of our members!

As we progress onwards, our skilled support team of personal matchmakers and events specialists will continue to work alongside our members to enable them to find true lasting love and companionship – but also, to help them have fun along the way too, through our well planned and thoroughly enjoyable singles events.

Singles Events from RSVP

Every one of our singles club events is carefully hosted, usually by one of our Head Office team but on occasions we use established members, so there'll always be someone there to introduce you to others. Our singles events are open to members and non-members, with members joining at a discounted rate or on occasions on a totally complimentary basis.

Many members find a partner at RSVP Singles Events - whether that's a Sunday singles walk in the country, a sparkling dinner dance or summer singles ball, whitewater rafting, a complete range of singles activity that covers all of mainland Great Britain. If you have to travel a distance to join us, don't worry we usually have good value options to stay over, so you can travel and join us at your leisure and depart next day.

So, even if you have a full social life already, be sure to leave room for some RSVP singles group events in your busy schedule. Your ideal partner may be there, and they could be the catalyst to start something very special!

Joining Events

Our membership options offer one-to-one matching as well as the opportunity to attend our exciting range of events, which cover the whole of the UK. These typically range from prestigious Black Tie Balls, discreet Dinner Parties, Murder Mystery Evenings, Party Evenings and Country Walks. All at carefully selected venues around the country and making RSVP unique amongst other Dating Agencies

Single Events: Online Booking

Our booking process is very easy for both members and non-members. Members however have a substantial discount to each event and on some membership packages you have access to some free events too. You can view and book all our planned singles events online, from the comfort of your own armchair. The functionality allows you to:

  • View a complete list of all our scheduled singles events around the UK.
  • Display singles events by date (so you can see what's coming up).
  • Display singles events by location (so you can see the ones close to you).
  • Display singles events by type (eg meals, walks, activities).
  • Click any singles event in the list to display all details plus an image of the venue.
  • Add singles events to your basket as you browse, so you remember what you are considering. You can always remove them later.
  • Settle on one or many single events to book - our booking process is very easy and straight forward, you could also book by phone if you prefer, but a booking fee will apply for this service.
  • Pay for all single events in your basket in one payment through the secure payment checkout of the website.

RSVP: Aiming to be a good corporate citizen

We're only too well aware that all organisations - just like individuals - make an impact on the world around them. We constantly strive to minimise the adverse and maximise the beneficial impact we have on the world.

We're strong supporters of charities and endeavour to give our chosen causes a hand whenever we can. We've critically assessed our environmental impacts and concluded that these fall in four main areas:

Travel

Membership Advisers provide video meetings with all clients and at times travel to meet new members, travelling by train whenever they can. We implore prospective members not to stand us up, because that's the ultimate waste of scarce resources; we'll always happily rearrange an appointment if it turns out to be inconvenient.

Paper

Our quarterly calendar of events is available online on the RSVP members website rather than a printed calendar. Marketing material is sent to prospective clients by email, and on occasions clients may prefer a paper copy of our marketing material but we always aim to minimise wastage.

Post

Historically, RSVP has been a good customer of Royal Mail but we know that each item creates extra journeys and uses paper. Accordingly, by default, we send our members their matches by email, which makes our service both faster and more environmentally-friendly.

Power

We've carefully chosen our servers and computers for their low power consumption and we use low-power LED monitors throughout. We operate a dial-in network so our staff can work from home if they need to - or from anywhere in the world they happen to be. Our Head Office uses low-energy lighting throughout, plus internal cabling which includes green power-over-ethernet switching - it turns off power to computer and telephone devices when they don't need it.

In time, we're sure there's more we can do, but we also look for your support in our pursuit of these aims.
